Fisher, Patterson, Sayler & Smith, LLP is pleased to invite applications for an Associate Attorney to join its Topeka, Kansas office.

As a midsize civil litigation defense firm, Fisher Patterson offers a welcoming, collaborative environment where attorneys can build meaningful litigation experience, work directly with clients, and learn alongside colleagues recognized by U.S. News' Best Lawyers as part of a First Tier law firm in Municipal Defense and Civil Rights Litigation, as well as Labor & Employment Litigation.

This opportunity may be a strong fit for a newly admitted attorney or an attorney with five or more years of experience who is licensed and in good standing in Kansas and ready to grow, take on substantive responsibility, and contribute to state and federal court matters.

The Opportunity

Associates are supported while developing a broad range of litigation skills, including:

  • Case strategy
  • Discovery
  • Depositions
  • Motion practice
  • Hearings
  • Trial preparation

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $75,000 to $95,000 per year, with higher compensation possible depending on experience.

Bonus: Up to 10% of base salary.

Position Details

Job Type: Full time
Schedule: Monday through Friday
License: Kansas law license in good standing required
Experience: Newly admitted attorneys through candidates with five or more years of litigation experience are encouraged to apply.

Work Location: This is an in person position in the Topeka office, where collaboration and direct mentorship are important parts of the role. Remote work is not the norm, but flexibility may be considered after the attorney has established a proven work record.
